The Goji berry is native to parts of Asia. It grows as a multi stemmed, 5′-6′ tall shrub covered with purple flowers in spring, and huge crops of 1/2″ long fruits throughout the summer. Goji berries are very high in nutrients, and have higher carotene levels than carrots. Goji berry juice is very popular as a healthy alternative to sugary fruit juices.
Goji berry bushes are extremely cold and drought tolerant, and will grow anywhere in Michigan. They should be spaced 4′ apart, and will begin producing fruit in two years.
Plants in 2 1/2″ pots are priced at $4.00 each.
